Citation and commencement
1.   These Regulations may be cited as the Presidential Elections (Composition of Offences) Regulations 2005 and shall come into operation on 29th July 2005.

Compoundable offences
2.   The following offences may be compounded by the Returning Officer, or any officer of the Elections Department who is authorised by the Returning Officer, in accordance with section 84 (1) of the Act:

(a) any offence under section 53 (5), 64 (1) (d) or (e) (read with subsection (3)), 67 (2) or 83 (2) of the Act;

(b) any illegal practice under section 56 (3) read with section 61 of the Act for failing to transmit, within the time limited by section 56 (1) of the Act, the returns and statements respecting election expenses; and

(c) any offence under regulation 16 (a), (b) or (c) of the Presidential Elections (Posters and Banners) Regulations (Rg 3).
