PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS ACT

(CHAPTER 218)

PARLIAMENTARY ELECTIONS (PRESCRIBED DATE) ORDER 2009

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5(4) of the Parliamentary Elections Act, the Prime Minister hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement
1. This Order may be cited as the Parliamentary Elections (Prescribed Date) Order 2009 and shall come into operation on 17th February 2009.

Prescribed date
2. For the purposes of section 5(1), (1A) and (2) of the Act, the prescribed date shall be 1st February in any year instead of 1st July.

Revocation
3. The Parliamentary Elections (Prescribed Date) Order 2006 (G.N. No. S 1/2006) is revoked.
